A loan of $15,000 helps a San Francisco based Oaxacan store buy supplies and reach more customers.

Nayeli's story
I am a Latina immigrant woman, born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and from a very young age I developed an entrepreneurial spirit. My mother ran a home-based business where she prepared and sold desserts, and I helped her make and deliver them, which sparked my love for entrepreneurship and traditional food.
At the age of 20, I moved to San Francisco, California, to pursue my dreams and seek better opportunities, as the economic situation in Mexico was challenging. In California, I faced many obstacles, including leaving my family behind and adapting to a new language and culture, but none of these challenges stopped me from dreaming, growing, and becoming stronger both personally and professionally.
My passion for entrepreneurship, my desire to provide a better future for my children, and the support I have received from Prospera motivate me to think big and continue working with determination to grow my business and preserve Oaxacan culture through my work.
