Carmen Del Transito

Carmen Del Transito's story

Carmen went to school until third grade.  She is currently married, and her husband works as a day laborer.  Her daughters are grown, but they currently live at home with Carmen and her husband.

Carmen has a small shop set up in her home where she sells staple goods.  She has had the business for about two years.  She started it on her own with the goal of generating an income for her household. By having the shop in her home, she doesn't need to travel about to make her sales.  The shop is open from 7:00am to 5:00pm.  Sometimes her daughters help her out in their free time.  Previously Carmen was exclusively a homemaker.

This loan will be used to purchase merchandise for the shop, like juices, sodas, bread, sweets and staple goods.  With this loan, Carmen hopes to keep her business well stocked, to better serve her customers and to generate a better profit.

Carmen's hopes are to expand her business and to achieve better financial stability for her family.
