A loan of $8,000 helps expand into a licensed commercial kitchen to increase food production capacity.

Ray's story
I grew up around food that told stories. Cooking was never just about eating in my household; it was how culture, family, and tradition came together. Over time, I realized that food could be a bridge between different backgrounds, flavors, and experiences. That belief became the foundation of my business, Soulphol Eatz, where I create dishes that blend cultural influences with a soulful approach to comfort food.
I started this business from my home kitchen, preparing meals for friends, family, and local customers who connected with the flavors and the story behind them. As demand grew, I saw the opportunity to turn what began as a passion into a sustainable business. What motivates me most is seeing people experience something familiar and new at the same time through food. I enjoy introducing customers to dishes that reflect multiple cultures while still feeling comforting and accessible.
My goal is to grow Soulphol Eatz into a mobile food business that allows me to reach more people and serve the community consistently. Operating from a mobile setup will give me the flexibility to meet customers where they are, participate in local events, and build a stronger presence. I am committed to running a responsible business, managing growth carefully, and delivering quality with every meal.
This loan will support my transition from a home-based operation into mobile food service, helping me expand responsibly while staying true to the cultural roots and soulful identity that define my work.
