Matilda's story

Matilda is a 35-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her two children in West Mamprusi district in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan, she bought more bags of grains to stock. She used the profit she earned to continue to grow her business.

Matilda is requesting another loan to buy more stock (grains) to meet customer demands. She plans to use the profit she earns to pay for further education.

She will repay the 'social interest' on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.
