Mathias
A loan of $1,275 helps to buy more pigs for sale.

Mathias' story
Mathias is 53 years old and lives in the town of Kiyinda in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. He is married and has 3 children who are all currently in school.
For the past 4 years, Mathias has been working hard to manage his piggery, which sells pigs. To help expand his business, Mathias has requested a loan of 4,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more pigs for sale, and will help Mathias to generate greater profits and educate his children.
Mathias hopes that in the future he will be able to construct rental units. He is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like him who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
