Zubayiri's story
Zubayiri is 60 years old and lives in the town of Kiyinda in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. He is married and has 4 children who are all currently in school.
For the past 12 years, Zubayiri has been working hard to manage his poultry and transportation business. To help expand his business, Zubayiri has requested a loan of 5,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy poultry birds, and will help Zubayiri to generate greater profits and Increase profits to improve on his family's standard of living.
Zubayiri hopes that in the future he will be able to buy more land. He is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like him who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
