Rath's story

Rath is 35 years old; he has been a farmer for 10 years. He farms wet season rice on the land, which is two hectares. By growing this wet season rice, he could collect the crops 2.5 tons per hectare for sale on the market. The crops will be sold directly to his local middleman who buys from his village.

To earn extra income for his family then, he has borrowed a loan of 8,000,000 KHR in order to buy two cows for raising at his home. He needs to collect rice straws and green grass for his animals everyday. He needs to spend around 12 months just to be able to sell his animals out.
