Justine's story
Justine is 44 years old and lives in the town of Matugga in the Matugga region of Uganda. She is Married and has 2 children who are all currently in school. For the past 10 years, Justine has been working hard to manage her farming, which sells agricultural produce.
To help expand her business, Justine has requested a loan of 6,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more legumes for planting, and will help Justine to generate greater profits and will be able to expand her business. Justine hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
