A loan of $1,400 helps to buy more clothes for sale.

Halima's story
Halima is 55 years old and lives in the town of Matugga in the Matugga region of Uganda. She is married and has 7 children, with 1 of them currently in school.
For the past 12 years, Halima has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells clothes. To help expand her business, Halima has requested a loan of 5,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda.
The loan will be used to buy more clothes for sale, and will help Halima to generate greater profits so she will be able to educate her children.
Halima hopes that in the future she will be able to construct a residential house.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
