A loan of $7,000 helps a Green Bay food truck purchase cooking equipment and inventory to better serve the community.

Deunagelo's story
I grew up in a challenging, under-resourced environment, not exactly the place to chase your dreams, I learned how to be resilient and resourceful. Throughout my life, I always took a liking to food, however I never had the resources to do anything with it, the idea of a food business felt like such a long shot. As I got a little older, I knew that one day I wanted to touch the world with my food. I had found my ultimate passion, and since then I have been cooking for over 30 years. My dedication has allowed me to work my way up to a management position at Bellin Hospital in the nutrition department, I know what it's like to lead and to manage people and assets. I have been working tirelessly for years to get this business going, I was not able to get a loan to start, so I saved up my own money for years to get this truck going. Creating food, building menus, and sharing my creativity through cooking is what I love most and owning my own business has allowed me to finally bring that vision to life. I always loved making fun food, combining different cultures and cuisines together, and I believe my take on carnival-style comfort food captures exactly that, the creativity I've always with food that goes back to my roots.
Seeing customers coming back to the window to tell me how much they enjoyed the food, or watching kids pull their parents over to try it, reminds me why I do this every day. My team works hard every day to create a positive, delicious experience, and we're ready to grow and serve more of the community in a meaningful way.
