I’m a mother, community leader, and longtime advocate for creating spaces where people feel welcomed and supported, especially during the early years of parenting. Parenting and working in the rural community I’m from has shown me how limited safe, year round gathering spaces are for families, and how isolating that can feel. I’m motivated by the belief that play builds strong children and strong communities, and I’m passionate about creating an inclusive indoor space where kids can thrive and caregivers can connect. Every part of our plan is intentionally designed around inclusivity and accessibility, with a particular commitment to supporting foster and kinship caregivers and the children in their care through welcoming, low-barrier programming. The pandemic dramatically reduced opportunities for new parents to build community, and many of those connections still haven’t returned- this project is an opportunity to help rebuild that sense of belonging for all families.
