Lisbeth's story

Lisbeth is a young Indigenous farmer from Buenos Aires, Cauca, with 17 years of experience in agricultural activity. She has a one-and-a-half-hectare plot of land, assigned by the Indigenous Council, where she grows more than 6,000 coffee plants intercropped with cocoa and other subsistence crops. This arrangement allows her to diversify production, strengthen her household’s food security, and make sustainable use of the soil.

Lisbeth lives with her husband and son in a house they are building together near their land. Her husband also provides ongoing support with agricultural tasks and crop care.

A loan of $5,921,062 COP allows her to purchase organic fertilizers to improve the sustainability of her coffee plantation. This investment improves soil fertility and enhances crop productivity.
