Bordadoras De Camelias Group
A loan of $3,600 helps a member to buy thread, designs, and fabric.

Bordadoras De Camelias Group's story
There are many women who have various businesses in rural parts of Guatemala. Their dreams and desires come to pass thanks to the people of Kiva who support and help women. One of these women is Maria, who works for her beloved family in one of the rural communities of the country. Three years ago, she and her group requested a loan that they were able to use in the businesses they manage and have. Specifically Maria was able to use it to buy thread and fabric for her embroidery work. Thanks to that opportunity, they were able to increase their capital somewhat. In the photo, Maria is between her colleagues.
This year, these hardworking women need to increase their profits. Therefore they come again to the Asociación ADICLA to request a loan. Having this on hand, they will be able to use it confidently for their businesses. Maria's plan for this loan is to buy threads, designs, and fabrics to continue offering "güipiles" [traditional embroidered blouses] to her customers, friends, and neighbors in the community.
A thousand thanks, Kiva, for supporting women for a better future.
