Andrea's story

My name is Andrea. I am 36 years old and originally from Villavicencio, Meta, Colombia. I immigrated to the United States eight years ago, leaving my parents behind in my hometown in search of better life opportunities and the dream of becoming an independent woman, both personally and financially. In Colombia, I completed my highest level of education as a civil engineer, but after moving to this country, I realized I would not be able to practice my career here. Instead of letting that stop me, I chose to start over.

I focused first on learning the language and began working in places where I could gain new skills and knowledge. Through my work, I learned extensively about auto insurance, taxes, and administrative services. In 2019, I started offering insurance plans as an employee, and by 2021, I took the first step into entrepreneurship by working independently from a small shared office. With determination and consistency, I obtained all the certifications and licenses required to start a multiservice business. Today, I am proud to say that I have my own office and leasing space, and I continue working toward expanding throughout the Bay Area with the mission of creating job opportunities for women who have the courage and strength to grow professionally. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and going to the gym, which help me stay focused, stress free, healthy, and motivated.
