Mamtaj And Group
A loan of $1,675 helps a member to expand her fish-selling business.

Mamtaj And Group's story
Mamtaj, a 50-year-old married woman from North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, lives with her family of three. She leads a group of three hardworking women from her locality, all of whom are striving to grow their small businesses. Together, they are seeking a loan of INR 150,000 from WeGrow, a lending partner of Milaap.
Mamtaj earns her livelihood by selling fish in the local market. Despite a modest household income of INR 23,000 per month, her business has potential. She maintains the quality of her stock and stores any unsold fish in a freezer to sell the next day. However, limited working capital has restricted her ability to scale her operations and increase her earnings.
With the support of this loan, Mamtaj plans to purchase more boxes of fish, enabling her to serve more customers and boost her income. She and her group members express their heartfelt gratitude to lenders and remain hopeful about the growth of their ventures.
