Alvaro's story
Alvaro works producing and selling cocoa. He has been developing this business for about 15 years. One of his main challenges is to keep his crops safe from diseases, because this is key to ensuring a good harvest of quality coffee beans. This work demands constant effort and dedication to his parcel of land.
Alvaro is requesting a loan through Kiva to improve the living conditions of his home, because he want to install running water to provide his family with greater well-being. In addition to working on his fields, Alvaro receives extra income from working as a farmhand, and this enables him to support the household.
With the additional earnings that he hopes to obtain, Alvaro plans to continue to invest in his agricultural activities and gradually make improvements to his home. This way, he can improve both his productive activities and his family's quality of life.
