Georgina's story

Georgina is a committed Indigenous farmer from Jambaló, Cauca, with 34 years of experience. She has one hectare of land assigned by the Indigenous council, where she has planted more than 5,000 coffee plants along with maize and cassava crops that complement production and help maintain soil balance. Georgina uses part of her maize harvest to produce natural fertilizers, which she applies to her crops, strengthening soil fertility and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Georgina lives with her husband and two of her four children in a house located near her land. Her older children are independent adults and support her in managing the crops.

A loan of 5,921,059 COP allows Georgina to acquire the agricultural inputs needed to manage and strengthen her crops. This investment improves plant nutrition, optimizes the development of coffee and associated crops, and contributes to increased productivity.
