Deimar's story
Deimar is a young farmer from Bolívar, Cauca, with 14 years of experience in cultivating sugarcane for panela production. He manages two hectares planted in staggered growth stages, which allows him to harvest over half a ton every three weeks. This production is used to make “panela” (a natural sweetener obtained by cooking and concentrating sugarcane juice into solid blocks), which he sells within his community and in nearby markets, generating consistent and sustainable income.
