Jesús' story
Jesús is a senior farmer from Popayán, Cauca, with 46 years of experience. He owns a half-hectare farm where he has planted over 2,000 coffee plants, alongside sugarcane crops at different stages of growth, which allows him to maintain continuous production, diversify his harvests, and optimize the management of his crops. From his crops, he produces "panela" (a natural sweetener traditionally made from sugarcane juice) that he sells to several local suppliers, generating additional income and strengthening his presence in the market for traditional local products.
Jesús lives with his sister in a house located in the middle of his farm. His sister is an important support for managing agricultural activities and organizing the farm.
A loan of COP 2,960,528 allows Jesús to acquire natural fertilizers. This investment contributes to optimizing production, maintaining crop quality, and increasing the agricultural diversity of the farm.
