Memunatu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 40-year-old Memunatu from Lunsar Branch. She is a married businesswoman with four children between the ages of 10 and 20 years old. Two are currently attending school. She started this business to take care of her family.

Memunatu runs a retail business and sells cooking items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 4 years. Memunatu says that her challenge is the increase in the cost of goods and transportation in the country.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more cooking items such as palm oil, foo-foo, beans, etc. to increase her business. Memunatu says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her children. In the future she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
