Hawa's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 45-year-old Hawa from Torkpoi Branch. She is a married businesswoman with five children between the ages of 12 and 26 years old. Three are currently attending school. She started her business to take care of her family.

Hawa runs a retail business and sells cooking items to her customers around the communities. She has been in this business for the past 12 years. Hawa says that her challenge is the increase in cost of goods and commodities in the country.

She has requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more cooking items like onions, palm oil, pepper, etc. to increase her business. Hawa says that the extra income from this loan will help her to take care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
