Lydia's story
Lydia resides in the province of Leyte. She is 54 years old and has one dependent. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store where she sells basic commodities. She has been managing this business for 10 years.
Currently, Lydia is requesting a loan of PHP 50,000 through Kiva’s lending partner, CEVI, a microfinance NGO in the Philippines. She will use the loan as additional capital to buy assorted groceries to sell in her store.
Lydia dreams of further improving her business in the future to achieve a better standard of living.
