Kuli Kuli

Kuli Kuli's story

Almost half of the world’s plant-derived calories come from just three crops: wheat, corn, and rice, which are increasingly vulnerable to climate change. Kuli Kuli addresses this risk by building supply chains for nutrient-dense climate climate-resilient plants such as moringa, creating benefits for human health, the environment, and smallholder farmers.

Kuli Kuli is a woman-founded, certified B Corp that sources climate-smart superfoods through regenerative agriculture with a strong focus on women farmers across Africa and Asia. Moringa, a drought-resistant tree rich in vitamins and minerals, is central to its model. To date, Kuli Kuli has generated over $7 million in income for small farmers, planted 38 million trees, and supported more than 4,500 livelihoods, with 69 percent of suppliers' workers being women.

This proposed transaction represents Kuli Kuli’s fifth loan through the Kiva Social Enterprise program. The company has fully repaid three prior loans and is successfully servicing its fourth, demonstrating a strong long long-standing partnership with Kiva.
