Sunem Group
A loan of $6,800 helps a member to buy catalog products.

Sunem Group's story
Sandra wants to progress and provide her family with better opportunities. She is 45 years old, and a single mother of a 23 year old daughter who is in her third year of University. Sandra received formal education for three years and had to drop out because of financial problems and a lack of support from her father.
Sandra has been selling catalog products for over 13 years. She sells perfumes, lotions, clothes, shoes, and kitchen utensils. She sells on the street or by special request. Her daughter helps her to deliver the orders in the afternoons and on the weekends. Sandra also works from Monday to Friday in a shoe shop, to gain more income.
Sandra is requesting her fifth Kiva loan to buy more catalog products, so she can take advantage of the high demand of the holidays. Her goal is to continue strengthening her business so that in the future she can have her own shop where she can display and sell her products.
Sandra is the treasurer of the Sunem Group, which is made up of women from the department of Quetzaltenango. The group members raise domestic animals, sell catalog products, food, and gas. All of them participate in the “Microcrédito Plus” Program of The Friendship Bridge to strengthen their businesses.
