Gorret
A loan of $725 helps to buy more general merchandise for sale.

Gorret's story
Gorret is 52 years old and lives in the town of Kiyinda in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. She is married and has 6 children with 4 of them currently in school.
For the past 7 years, Gorret has been working hard to manage her retail shop that sells salt, soap, rice and sugar. To help expand her business, Gorret has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more general merchandise for sale, and will help Gorret to generate greater profits and will be able to educate her children. Gorret hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program which primarily serves small-group members like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
