Barbra
A loan of $1,700 helps to buy more raw food to sell.

Barbra's story
Barbra is 51 years old and lives in the town of Kiyinda in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. She is married and has four children with three of them currently in school. For the past eight years, Barbra has been working hard to manage her raw food sales.
To help expand her business, Barbra has requested a loan of 6,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more raw food to sell, and will help Barbra to generate greater profits and be able to improve her standard of living.
Barbra hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program which primarily serves small-group members like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
