Rosemary
A loan of $850 helps to purchase more tomatoes, onions, cabbages, spinach, and leafy greens.

Rosemary's story
Rosemary is 37 years old and lives in Kiyinda in the town of Mityana in the region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, with 3 of them currently in school. For the past 7 years, Rosemary has been working hard to manage her grocery store, which sells vegetables.
To help expand her business, Rosemary has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda Bank. The loan will be used to buy more vegetables to sell, and will help Rosemary to generate greater profits and improve her family's standards of living by providing them with enough food. Rosemary hopes that in the future she will be able to buy a plot of land and build rental units for business. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
