Soluna

Soluna's story

Soluna Energía is a Colombian social enterprise founded in 2020 to address energy exclusion in rural and underserved communities where access to reliable electricity remains limited or nonexistent. Soluna provides clean, 24/7 power through an energy-as-a-service model that removes the need for upfront investment, allowing low-income households and small businesses to access electricity through affordable recurring payments .

This USD 60,000 loan will finance the installation of approximately 40 solar energy systems in rural Colombia, benefiting an estimated 130–150 people. Around 70% of the systems will serve low-income households, with the remainder supporting small businesses and community institutions. The systems are expected to generate roughly 5 MWh of clean energy per month, improving living conditions, enabling income-generating activities, and helping avoid ~30–40 tons of CO₂ per year.
