A loan of $1,275 helps to buy more shoes and patterns of clothing to sew to sell.

Donata's story
Donata is 41 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, with none of them currently in school.
For the past 5 years, Donata has been working hard to manage her shoe selling and tailoring businesses, where sells shoes and sews clothes. To help expand her business, Donata has requested a loan of 4500000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more shoes and patterns of clothing to sew to sell, and will help Donata to generate greater profits and will be able to improve standards of living.
Donata hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program which primarily serves small-group members like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
