Margret
A loan of $575 helps to buy more general merchandise to sell.

Margret's story
Margret is 44 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, with 2 of them currently in school.
For the past 7 years, Margret has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells rice, posho, sugar, soap and soft drinks. To help expand her business, Margret has requested a loan of 2000000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more general merchandise for sale, and will help Margret to generate greater profits and will be able to improve standards of living.
Margret hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program which primarily serves small-group members like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
