Dagath Group's story

This group is made up of 15 members who share strong bonds of solidarity and mutual assistance.  They live in the same neighborhood and they took advantage of the opportunity to join the group upon its formation in August, 2009.

The group's primary activity is business.  Ms. Birame, standing on the far right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative.  She is 48 years old, married, and the mother of 6 children.  She raises livestock.  With this loan she plans to buy some sheep and animal feed to increase her stock.  She will fatten them up for at least 6 months and then resell them.  Her profits will enable Ms. Birame to help pay for daily expenses and her children's school fees.

In this group: Faty, Birame, Amy, Aby, Khoudia, Marame, Maguette, Aby, Aminata, Awa, Faty, Boye, Thiara, Khady Mour, Thiane
