Thơm's story
Mrs. Thơm is 34 years old, married, and the mother of two children aged 9 and 7. Her family lives in a coastal area of Thanh Hóa Province. Her husband works as a freelance manual laborer with unstable income, while Mrs. Thơm has been running a small seafood trading business for nearly 10 years.
Every day, she purchases fresh seafood from local fishermen, then processes or freezes it before selling it to local customers. Despite her hard work, the combined income of the couple is only enough to cover basic living expenses, at around nearly USD 300 per month.
Seeing the strong demand in the market, Mrs. Thơm hopes to buy more fish and shrimp to expand her business and increase her income. However, due to a lack of capital, she is unable to do so at this time. Therefore, she is applying for a second loan from Thanh Hóa MFI to invest in additional seafood stock.
In the future, Mrs. Thơm hopes that her income will improve, allowing her family to achieve greater stability and provide her children with a better life and better opportunities for education.
