Phatchara
A loan of $1,725 helps to buy raw materials to grow her hammock weaving business.

Phatchara's story
Phatchara grew up in a rural village in Northern Thailand, founded by families who fled violence near the Laos border.
The village name means “Mother of Rest,” reflecting its role as a place of safety. Like many rural communities, her village now faces limited job opportunities as traditional farming becomes less reliable.
After finishing school, Phatchara earned a vocational degree in jewelry making and worked in the trade for several years. She later returned to her village and eventually moved closer to the city to be near the Yellow Leaf warehouse to access more stable work.
Artisan hammock weaving offers Phatchara a dependable income and a path forward. For now, she is using her earnings to purchase essential household items like a refrigerator, while saving toward her long-term goal of building her own home.
With this loan, she will invest in raw materials to weave consistently and to continue building a secure future.
