Maureen

Maureen is a 33-year-old single mother who works tirelessly to support her two boys and build a brighter future for them. She runs a busy salon and cosmetics shop, a business she loves because it empowers clients while providing a steady income. She plans to use this loan to restock popular items such as braids and essential cosmetic products to keep up with customer demand.

Despite normal business challenges, Maureen manages her shop responsibly, uses her earnings to care for her children, and reinvest in her enterprise. Her business also benefits the community by employing five staff members and sourcing products locally. After successfully repaying two previous loans with ECLOF Kenya Limited, Kiva’s field partner, she now hopes to expand further and create more opportunities for youth in her area.
