Thu's story
At 52, Mrs. Thu has carried her family through many hardships. Her husband passed away early, leaving her to raise two children on her own. Now, she shares a small rural home in Thanh Hóa with her son’s family, continuing to support those she loves.
Thu earns a modest income, just over $250 a month, by weaving dried sedge fibers. She buys the raw materials from local farmers, then hand-weaves them into strands sold to craft producers.
To increase her earnings, Thu hopes to buy more dried sedge and produce larger quantities. She is applying for her first loan from Thanh Hóa MFI to make this possible.
With this loan, Thu can strengthen her small business, assist her grandchildren, and save for a more secure old age.
