Kelin Mariela's story
Kelin is a young twenty-eight-year-old woman who is married to a public transport driver, with no children, trained as a vocational nurse five years ago. However, she prefers to have a business from home, which allows her to generate income and be closer to her husband. Kelin has been a nurse and has been selling clothing and footwear online for eight years. For five years Kelin has owned a third business in a rented premises, where she rents tables and chairs and employs a person who moves the furniture for her.
Kelin is requesting a first loan from Kiva in order to buy medicines, shoes, clothes, plastic tables and chairs. She is a model entrepreneur in the "Puente del Exito" program of the Department of Sacatepequez; every two weeks, from a business developer, she receives training on how to better manage her business.
She thanks Kiva's lenders for their support to " Puente del Exito " program and to the young entrepreneurs like her who are its members; this help is useful to improve her business and also her quality of life.
