May's story

May, 38, is an entrepreneur with five children, four of whom attend school. She is married and resides with her husband and children in an urban location of Efate. Her husband is a bus driver. This is her third loan cycle with SPBD. To supplement her income, she prepares and sells fresh kava juice at her kava bar.

May opened her kava bar five years ago from self-motivation. The primary goal of her business is to help her family meet their their daily needs. She currently hopes to buy more green kava to increase her kava juice so that she can better cater to her customer demand. However, she is in financial difficulty.

She is requesting a loan to purchase bags of green kava. The business income will be used to cover home needs, her children's education and to put money into her savings. With this financing, she is inspired to expand her business and secure a better future for her family.
