Rocelia Eulalia's story

The desire to improve themselves motivates many women to transform small spaces into real opportunities. Rocelia is an example of that. With effort and vision, she is building her own shop to continue growing and to achieve her dream of opening a small restaurant to support her family.

Rocelia is 32 years old, married, and the mother of three children (ages 16 months to 12 years). Two of them are in school, in third and fifth grades. Rocelia has nine years of schooling, but she stopped her studies when she married. Her husband works as a carpenter.

For three years, she has been selling traditional clothing as a street vendor in the local market, while she completes the construction of her site. Now Rocelia requests a loan to buy more typical clothing, as well as a stove, cooking utensils, and ingredients to start her small restaurant. Two of her children help her to serve customers.

Determined to boost her businesses, for the first time Rocelia joined the  "Puente al Exito" [bridge to success] program of The Friendship Bridge. In this program,  every two weeks she will receive personalized training from a business developer. The operational objective of the program is self-sufficiency, strengthening confidence, and boosting the business.

Thanks to the Kiva lenders for supporting businesses like Rocelia's!
