A loan of $8,000 helps an Oregon-based community nursing service build a mobile clinic for increased wellness outreach.

Mia's story
I have been in the nursing profession for over 38 years. I have done every type of nursing, from CNA to Floor Nurse, to Nursing administration, but have learned that community-based nursing and education to be the most rewarding type of nursing, and the most needed at this time. There is an extremely high incidence of lifestyle diseases, but the amount of people with little access to, or fear of commercial healthcare, and lifestyle diseases are taking over and burdening not only individuals, but families, and the community. I want my final acts as a nursing professional to be serving those who are afraid to access traditional medicine, or unable to access due to location, making sure they have monthly check-up, health reviews, testing, and wellness and nutrition education and counseling they deserve.
