Dâng

Dâng's story

Dâng is 35 years old and the mother of four children, ages 16, 12, 8, and 3, all of whom are currently in school. Her family lives in a rural village in Thanh Hoa province, where life is simple but often challenging. Her husband works as a casual laborer, earning irregular income that depends on the availability of jobs.

For nearly ten years, Dâng has been handcrafting products from sedge, a traditional material widely used in her area. She buys dried sedge from local farmers and weaves it into household items that she sells to nearby shops. On average, she earns about $250 per month, which helps cover basic living expenses and her children's education.

To expand her production, Dâng hopes to purchase more dried sedge so she can weave more consistently and supply more products. She is applying for her first loan from the Thanh Hoa MFI to support this plan. With this loan, she aims to strengthen her small business, increase her income, and build long-term stability for her family.
