Cooperativa Laguna De Los Cóndores

In the lush highlands of Peru’s Amazonas region, Cooperativa Laguna de los Cóndores (“Lagunas”) brings together nearly 800 smallholder farmers, helping them grow premium organic coffee and improve their quality of life.

Lagunas operates in an area where small-scale farmers face low prices and limited access to markets, leaving many families living in poverty. By providing hands-on training in sustainable, organic farming, the cooperative enables its members to earn up to 50% more income while protecting their land and local biodiversity.

Women play a vital role in Lagunas' operations. Through its women’s committee, Lagunas supports rural women to develop skills in farm management, family economics, and leadership. This work helps them gain confidence, share decision-making around land, and play a leading role in the cooperative’s future.
