Betty
A loan of $575 helps buy more cosmetics to sell.

Betty's story
Betty is 43 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has three children who are all currently in school. For the past eight years, Betty has been working hard to manage her cosmetics, business in which she sells braids, weaves, lotions and soap.
To help expand her business, Betty has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more cosmetics to sell and will help Betty to generate greater profits, improve her standard of living and pay school fees. Betty hopes that in the future she will be able to own a unisex salon.
Betty is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small Group members like Betty who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans
