Santos

A loan of $1,200 helps to buy corn and firewood, as well as a stove with a griddle, for her business selling tortillas.

Santos

Santos' story

Santos, age 66, is single and lives with two adult children. She has other children who live abroad and help her financially. Santos has worked selling tortillas for 40 years; she learned the work from her mother.  Santos says that, in this way, she was able to provide for her children and to give them an academic education. She works in the business Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Santos is requesting a loan because she wants to invest in her  tortilla business. She will buy corn and firewood, as well as a stove with a griddle. This will be very helpful because buying wholesale will permit her to have a better profit margin. Thus she will be able to continue covering household expenses.

Santos's dream is to be able to improve the site where she currently has her business, and always to be a model of improvement for her children.
