Lala Lemou's story

Madam Lala Lemou T. is 47 and lives with her husband and their 7 children in Noumousso, one of the popular district of the city of Kadiolo (third administrative region of Mali). Madam Lala Lemou T. sells boubous bazin (African tunics) and incense for more than 10 years. She set up her family business in the district of Noumousso where her clients really appreciate the quality of her products and her credibility. To meet the needs of her clients which are getting bigger and bigger, she is applying to a loan with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso. The loan will allow her to buy 20 pieces of pagnes bazins (a type of cloth), 10Kg of seeds of "magnon Kisenin-gueunnin" and 15 bottles of perfume in Bamako. After dyeing and sewing the pagnes bazins, the boubous are sold. The seeds and perfumes are also sold after being transformed. She sells her products door to door to men and women as an itinerant saleswoman for cash and on credit. She plans of making a monthly profit of 150 000 FCFA thanks to the loan. The loan will be used to grow her business, help with her family's expenditures et pay off her loans and interests.
