Aliphonsine
A loan of $2,125 helps to replace her trusty but tired pots and pans, buy new plates and cups, restock her kitchen with fresh ingredients and give her restaurant a new look to attract more customers.
Aliphonsine's story
Aliphonsine, a woman with a determined spirit, arrived in Uganda from the DRC in 2015. Leaving behind political unrest, she carried with her a passion for cooking and a dream of a better life. With just a few pots and pans, she started a small restaurant, serving up delicious, home-cooked meals that reminded people of home.
For seven years, Aliphonsine's restaurant has been a warm haven for the community. But time has taken its toll. Worn-out equipment and dwindling supplies make it difficult to serve as many customers as she'd like.
A loan will help her replace her trusty but tired pots and pans, purchase new plates and cups, and restock her kitchen with fresh ingredients. With a fully equipped kitchen and a welcoming space, she can finally serve more people and expand her menu.
More than just a restaurant owner, Aliphonsine is a mother of two young adults. This loan is about creating a brighter future for her family. Increased income will allow her to improve their standard of living and achieve financial independence.
