Yen is representing this group. She is an ethnic minority woman. In this photo, she is standing on the far right. She lives in a remote village in Dien Bien province - one of the poorest provinces in Vietnam. She was born and raised in a farming family. When she grew up, she followed in her family's steps to earn a living through means such as cultivating rice, corn and cassava and breeding pigs and chickens.

To expand her business and increase her income, she took this 13th loan to buy fertilizer for her cassava field to increase its yield. She can sell cassava at a good price. She also has more than 10 years of experience so she has a belief that this investment they can attend school fully for a better future. For the rest of the profit, she will re-invest.

She hopes for nothing more than a better life for her family. This support from Kiva lenders is a great motivation for her.
