A loan of $2,375 helped a member to purchase fabrics, men's clothing, and incense.

Bok Jom Group's story

The solidarity group Bok Jom was created on December 4, 2007. It is made up of 8 women who are all from the same neighborhood. These women know each other through friendship and neighborly ties.

Mrs. Aminta F., standing at the far right in the photo, wearing a white Grand Boubou, is the group's leader. She is 56 years old. She is married and has 9 children.

She sells fabrics and men's clothing. She also sells incense. She often sells her goods on credit and collects at the end of each month. She has 4 years of experience at this job.

With her loan she is going to purchase the above-mentioned merchandise. Her main goal is to take care of her sick 17-year-old daughter (a student in the equivalent of 10th grade, she has been invited to continue her studies through the equivalent of the end of High School).

In this group: Aminta, Yacine, Gaye, Fatou Mbalo, Lose, Coumba Fall, Sokhna Maï, Fatou
