Abdulsamad's story

I was originally born in Yemen. There, I taught high school Math for four years. In 1997, I immigrated to the United States seeking a better life for my family. When I first arrived, I found jobs at the Dollar Store, Circuit City, and as a New York City cab driver for 10 years. In 2011, I decided to move to Baltimore because I wanted more stability in my life. I opened my first store, Rossiter Corner Store, soon after arriving in Baltimore. The Corner Store was successful enough to allow me to open up another store, Govan’s Deli, in 2017. I found that my business needs a tax expert and an accountant so I took taxes courses and got enough knowledge then, I established bookkeeping and tax services in 2018. In addition to all that I am studying towards a CPA and will graduate in 2023.
