A loan of $5,000 helps a Woman Entrepreneur to manage client capacity through hiring a technical support team.

De'andrea's story

For many years, I worked in the banking industry at various levels, primarily management. During that time, I experienced a myriad of issues such as: racism, sexism, ageism, and discrimination, while simultaneously striving to gain the education and experience essential to climbing the corporate ladder. Defeated and exasperated, I decided to refocus all that energy into something positive. I left corporate America! After 10 years of dedication to the vision of others, I chose to focus on my own dreams and legacy.

In my previous work with small business owners, as a banking manager I observed owners encountering the same cycle. An owner’s lack of resources which directly impacts their ability to “qualify” for formal lending. In helping them navigate the roadblocks, I found my passion! I would assist entrepreneurs financially, through helping them develop plans and solid roadmaps for their businesses. I would help them find alternative avenues to fund their businesses. I am grateful for my journey in the banking industry as it has lended many lessons. With the primary lessons being about the importance of structure, communication and balance.

After my departure from Corporate America to entrepreneurship, I learned life teaches you those same lessons in a variety of ways. A year later, I became a victim of domestic violence, which has resulted in divorce, recalibration, and reclamation. After a year of self discovery and trauma therapy; my passion for my business grew exponentially. I have gained a new perspective on my passion and I am not more motivated about orchestrating the blueprint for others to succeed in business. My passion is showing business owners it is possible to come back from past hurts, traumas, and setbacks, and how to turn the negatives into meaningful and purposeful work all while being financially educated.
