Chi's story

I emigrated from Hong Kong to the United States with my family at the age of five. My hard-working parents lived the American dream, opened a business, and raised both me and my brother while successfully running the Chinese takeout business we called home. Growing up with my parents setting the example every day, I learned the value of risk, hard work, and the power of food to bring people together. Their example taught me my most valuable life lessons and this is where I developed my first love of entrepreneurship and the food business.

I have both an undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Maryland and I've been a design architect for the past 15 years working on numerous large-scale building and planning projects for major clients. My job allowed me to hone my skills as a designer, problem solver and team builder that develops creative solutions to complex issues. I used these skills to create and develop the waffle bun and they helped me achieve a broad US utility patent that sparked this business. I am excited to launch my company, return back to my roots in the food business, and achieve my goal of being a successful entrepreneur. It would mean everything to be able to fulfill this mission, complete the American dream for my parents, provide for my family, and set an example to dream big for my three young boys.

This loan is special because:

it helps an entrepreneurial inventor market and manufacture his waffle buns.
